ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

On behalf of the National Women’s Shelter Network, Inc. (NWSN), we invite you to join us for the upcoming 2025 NWSN National Conference, Shelters United for Women, Children and Families ~ Saving and Changing Lives, January 27-30, 2025, at the Washington Hilton, Washington, DC.

The National Conference includes over 45 presentations and breakout sessions, exciting keynote speakers, and our very own workshopping resource center to connect shelters and safe haven programs to resources tailored to their needs. Stay tuned for the event program!

Hundreds of shelter leaders and other experts, national allies and partners, as well as key government officials and stakeholders, will attend as we aim to advance the status of women, children and families experiencing homelessness across the country and the shelters and safe havens that serve them.

We will kick off the conference with registration, socializing and networking with peers, and an evening reception at the Washington Hilton on Monday, January 27th. Over the course of the next two days, informative presentations and breakout sessions will cover a wide range of topics tailored to the needs of shelters and safe haven programs, including trauma-informed fundamentals, enriched programming, the special health and mental health needs of sheltered women and children, strategies to help children and families heal, job readiness training and employment programs, and specialized programs and services for drop-in centers, recuperative care, park safe, youth programs, and maternity group homes. Experts will discuss how to improve your organizational capacity, successful fundraising strategies, supporting your team, capital campaigns and financing. Learn about the NWSN’s advocacy work on Capitol Hill for shelters and join us for a fun and exciting day on the 30th as we educate our legislators on the importance of safe, supportive shelter for women, children and families experiencing homelessness and the resources needed by women’s and family shelter programs to support their successful transitions to ending homelessness. DISCOVER new RESOURCES, make INVALUABLE CONNECTIONS, and BE INSPIRED, as we UNITE in shared mission, learning, service and FRIENDSHIP together.
