NWSN ANNUAL CONFERENCE
SAFE SHELTER SAVES LIVES
On behalf of the National Women’s Shelter Network, Inc. (NWSN), we invite you to join us for the upcoming 2026 NWSN Annual Conference, Safe Shelter Saves Lives, September 21-24, 2026 at La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona.
The Annual Conference includes over 50 presentations and breakout sessions, exciting keynote speakers, and our very own workshopping resource center to connect shelters and safe haven programs to resources tailored to their needs.
Hundreds of shelter leaders and other experts, national allies and partners, as well as key government officials and stakeholders, will attend as we aim to advance the status of women, children and families experiencing homelessness across the country and the shelters and safe havens that serve them.
We will kick off the conference with registration, socializing and networking with peers, and an evening reception at La Paloma on Monday, September 21st. Over the course of the next four days, informative presentations and breakout sessions will cover a wide range of topics tailored to the needs of shelters and safe haven programs. Additionally, learn about the NWSN’s advocacy work on Capitol Hill for shelters, how the NWSN is responding to the changing federal landscape, and the importance of community and network in the mission of sheltering.
And while you’re at it, let’s have a little fun, too! Situated in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, join us in discovering the allure and majestic beauty of Tucson, Arizona. Surrounded by stunning desert landscapes and vibrant sunsets, it’s the perfect place to rest and reignite your spirit, refresh and discover new perspectives for our work, and rejuvenate!

"I enjoyed meeting new friends and making great
connections. I’m grateful to be able to reach out
and network with others from state to state. I
would’ve never been able to have these
connections without this blessing gathering."
Victoria Lee Our Lady’s Inn, MO
"Learning about what other programs are doing, and how they are best serving the communities they serve was immensely helpful. The networking opportunities were fantastic, and just having the ability to listen,
learn, and be inspired by others was great."
Annmarie GovardhanAbby’s House, MA
"Incredible! Just being in the company of others doing this work was so encouraging and empowering. It was an incredible experience for our shelter managers to get to learn and be experts in the room in moments. It has helped me remember my dreams for our organization and its impact that have been slowly and steadily worn away as I've navigated the daily struggles of funding and operating our organization."
Emily Wheeland The Delores Project, CO
"At first, I questioned whether to bring my
team of 4 directors, but each made valuable
connections in their specific area of work.
In fact some agencies have already asked if
they can come out to visit us in our city."
Katie O’BrienRose Haven, OR
"Thank you! It was an invaluable experience for
our team and organization. We all left with actionable goals as well as feeling encouraged from our experiences."
